Ranked by pass rate

Schools ordered by the percentage of Black students meeting the standard the state reports, shown in the metric field above. Each state sets its own bar, so figures are comparable within a state but not across states.

Ranked by the gap

Gap = Black student pass rate − all-student pass rate at the same campus. A positive gap (green) means Black students outperformed their classmates in the same building — which is exactly what a general ranking hides.

Why some schools show no number

TEA suppresses rates when fewer than 5 students in a group were tested. Campuses without a reportable Black student result are excluded rather than shown as zero — 6,026 Texas campuses have reportable data.

Why 5 students at 100% means less than 200 at 85%

A campus with 5 Black students tested at 100% is a weaker signal than one with 200 students at 85%. Results are filtered to schools with 25 or more Black student results by default — adjust this under Filters. When two schools show the same pass rate, the one with more students tested ranks higher.

How old these numbers are

This ranking reflects the 2024–25 school year. TEA publishes updated TAPR data annually each fall. Rankings will be refreshed each year as new data becomes available.
